Hello lovely humans! So I’ve been doing a lot of research on what is trending lately when it comes to festivals. I’ve taken inspiration from Pinterest, Tumblr and my own experience to put together a compilation of looks and vibes that may help you put together a KILLER festival outfit. For more inspo and pics, you can check out my Coachella Style Guide on Pinterest right HERE
Here is my list of 7 style tips to step up your festival game:
Now I don’t mean you literally have to go as a Game of Thrones Character, but you should definitely take some inspiration from their outfits. Think about long wavy hair, braids, maxi skirts with high splits, high knee combat boots, shiny tops and Jesus sandals.
My Laneway 2016 outfit was a perfect encapsulation of modern-day Margaery:
2 – FASHIONABLE WITCH VIBES
Okay so I’m talking velvet bells, long draping kimonos, bell sleeve arms, wide brim hats and lace. If you have a little bit more money to spend, then I recommend you check out Girl on a Vine. They have the most amazing flared pants and kimonos.
Alternatively, Rat and Boa have an amazing crochet dress and velvet jumpsuit.
I also love simple black dresses like this versatile lace cover up from @Mewsha‘s new line She The Creature. This dress is super affordable and very easy to dress up or down. I recommend wearing black high waisted briefs and a crop top underneath, paired with a killer pair of boots, dark lippy and a cute choker. It can also be tucked into shorts (as pictured below)
Have a look at these amazing kimonos from Sunshine Dreamer. They work as amazing statement pieces that you can pair with a simple dress or flared pants.
Lastly, you should definitely finish off your outfit with a fedora from Lack of Color. My favourite is The Midnight Muse ii
3 – CHAIN ME DOWN VIBES
Right now I’m 100% obsessing over chain bras and body chains. If you’re feeling a little daring, it’s a great way to make a simple outfit stand out. I recommend pairing it with a statement necklace and cute silk skirt (as pictured above). Take a look at Christie Nicole and Grace Bijoux.
Annddddd if you’re broke AF like me, take a look at Gold Soul’s body chains. They’re affordable and look really awesome with crop top and shorts.
4 – CHOKE ME VIBES
5 – YAS QUEEN VIBES
If you don’t own a crown just yet, then I SERIOUSLY recommend getting your hands on one for this festival season. I know a lot of them can be really really extravagant and expensive, but Crystal Eclipse Crowns on Etsy are quite affordable and look absolutely stunning.
Wild and Free Jewelry also have an amazing collection of head crowns. Take your festival outfit to the next level with a unique butterfly or shell crown.
6 – GYPSY VIBES
If you’re looking for a unique bohemian matching set, then check out Sunrise to Moonshine Designs. The Sundance Crystal Wrap Top is my fave (pictured above) because of the unique colour and the beautiful bead detailing.
7 – BEYONCE FORMATION VIBES
The minute I saw Beyonce’s new music video, I fell in love with this look. You can never go wrong with all black and heavy jewellery. The best place to score yourself some amazing statement pieces are Happiness Boutique and 87 Eclectics. Don’t be afraid to layer these necklaces on top of each other to take your look to the next level. Remember, more is more!
