The journey I’ve had with my skin has been a real roller coaster. I used to get these huge red pimples popping up in the same place over and over again and it was extremely frustrating. My skin used to look tired and I always had bags under my eyes. I used to use so many different grocery store skin care products with harmful chemicals, falling victim to their guileful marketing schemes time and time again.
Now that my skin has finally cleared, I want to share with you all the products that helped me get my all natural glow:
COCONUT OIL ($8.99 AUD)
This stuff is a MIRACLE WORKER. I mainly use it as a makeup remover because it’s a lot more gentle on my skin. After I remove my makeup, I massage the oil into my skin and then wash my face, leaving me with skin as soft as a baby’s bottom. SERIOUSLY this stuff is so good. HOWEVER, coconut oil may not be compatible with super oily skin types so try it out on a small patch of skin if this is you. Coconut oil has also helped with my under eye bags. I would rub a bit under my eyes and leave it on while I sleep. It really helps to rejuvenate my skin. I would always wake up the next morning with such a nice healthy glow, ready to take on the world. YASSS.
My mum introduced me to Dermalogica and I’ve never looked back. These cruelty-free products are a miracle worker. You can look at their full range of products here but the ones I use are:
Special cleansing gel 500ml ($76 AUD) – After I massage the coconut oil into my skin, I wash it off with this gel. I love this soap-free cleanser because it washes away all my impurities without disrupting the moisture balance. The one thing I hate is when a cleanser drains all the oil from my face and I feel like a piece of cardboard.
Microfoliant ($73 AUD) – OMG this thing is brilliant and so unique. Basically, it comes out of the bottle powder form, and when mixed with water turns into a paste. Its great for evening out your skin tone. My skin tends to scar a lot after I get a pimple and leaves an annoying dark patch. The microfoliant brightens up my skin and helps me get my glow on.
Both these products are amazing. Bye bye blackheads on my nose and annoying red cheek pimples!
BENZAC ($15.70 AUD)
You know that feelin’ when your skin is looking clear one minute, and then the next minute you have this HUGE MONSTROUS PIMPLE and you’re like where the HELL did that come from? Yeah well this pimple cream helps with that because of the 10% benzoyl peroxide in it (the thing that helps dry the pimple out). After I’ve cleansed my face, I moisturise with a bit of Vaseline cream and pop a tiny bit of this pimple cream on the annoying pimple and leave it overnight. The next morning, the pimple has reduced massively in size. This is great when you have a big event on and you suddenly get a surprise pimple the night before. I just said pimple like a thousand times.
I hope this helps! Feel free to ask questions in the comments 🙂
